TikTok Creator Rewards Program: Requirements and How to Apply

To earn through TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program, apply with an eligible account and publish videos that meet the program’s requirements. Once accepted, use the earnings dashboard to see each video’s qualified views and rewards.

You can also earn through brand-funded work. A brand or agency may pay for content, approved posts, eligible views or a recurring set of deliverables. These campaigns have their own briefs and payment terms.

For TikTok’s own program, begin in TikTok Studio. For paid clipping and UGC work, browse Content Rewards campaigns to compare briefs from brands and agencies. These campaigns run separately from TikTok’s Creator Rewards Program.

Who can apply for TikTok Creator Rewards?

TikTok's general program explanation lists at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the preceding 30 days, alongside age, personal-account, good-standing and location requirements. Local conditions can differ, so the current program screen for your account is the practical place to verify access.

The recent views needed to apply and the qualified views used for earnings are different counts. Check account eligibility first; after acceptance, use each video’s reward report to see which views count toward payment.

Open your profile, enter TikTok Studio and find Creator Rewards under the available monetization options. Review the criteria shown for your account and follow the application steps.

If you cannot apply, identify the missing requirement. Account type, location and standing matter alongside followers and views. The program screen and current rules will help you decide what to address.

Prepare work that fits the program

Build original longer videos around a useful explanation, story or demonstration. TikTok describes originality, play duration, search value and audience engagement among the inputs to its rewards formula.

TikTok's program comparison excludes Duets, Stitches and sponsored content from its definition of qualifying original content. A clip from someone else's work does not become original merely because it has new captions. Permissions and originality requirements are separate questions.

Choose a topic you can show in detail. A cooking video might explain a technique from preparation to finished dish; a tutorial could walk through a task and the mistakes viewers are likely to encounter.

Before uploading, watch the video from start to finish. Check the footage, audio, captions and description against the program requirements.

How to apply in TikTok Studio

Submit the application in TikTok Studio and follow its status there. Once accepted, check the status of individual videos as you publish them.

If an application or video is rejected, read the stated reason. Follow the appeal or reapplication instructions and provide information that addresses that issue.

Understand qualified views and RPM

Creator Rewards calculates earnings from qualified views under its rules. Use that figure from the rewards dashboard rather than the public play count.

The basic calculation is qualified views divided by 1,000, multiplied by RPM. For illustration, 100,000 qualified views at $0.50 RPM would give $50; at $0.25 RPM, they would give $25. Use the rate reported for your video, not these example rates.

Check the same video and date range when comparing the calculation with the dashboard. Additional rewards, adjustments and processing can affect the reported amount.

Why a high-view video might earn little or nothing

Open the video’s reward report and check its eligibility, qualified views, rate and payment status. Those details can show whether the issue is unqualified views, a lower rate, a rejected video or a payment still being processed.

Compare several videos after their reports have updated. You will get a more useful picture of your usual earnings than from the highest or lowest result alone.

Use viewing data to improve the next video

A clear opening helps viewers understand what the video offers. State the question, show the process or introduce the story without a long preamble. Keep necessary context and remove repetition that delays the answer.

Look at where people leave. If they drop out during a long introduction, open closer to the useful part. If they leave during the demonstration, check whether the explanation or visual is hard to follow.

Try the change in a few related videos. Compare their audience response and qualified earnings, allowing for differences in topic and length. Keep the changes that help viewers understand and stay with the content.

Other ways to earn from TikTok content

Sponsored posts and asset production

A sponsor can pay for a placement or commission an asset for its own channels. The fee should reflect the scope, production, rights and distribution. A fixed fee can be useful when the work is substantial and the brand controls the eventual use.

Quote the actual job: what you will make, whether you will post it, how many revisions are included and how the brand can use it. For a performance bonus, agree on the rate, measurement and payment window.

Affiliate commission and commerce

Affiliate commission comes from eligible purchases or other agreed actions. Check the rate, attribution window, returns and payment schedule, then track sales alongside clicks and views.

TikTok Shop has separate entry rules. The current US TikTok Shop policy requires 1,000 followers for self-applying affiliate creators and has different rules for seller-bound accounts. Use the policy for your market and account type.

Fan support, products and services

LIVE gifts, subscriptions and other native features have their own requirements. You can also use videos to introduce a product or service—for example, an editing tutorial that leads to a paid editing offer.

Add one offer that fits the audience you are reaching. Allow for the time needed to answer enquiries, deliver the work and support customers.

How Content Rewards campaigns work alongside TikTok

Content Rewards is a good place to start with paid clipping and UGC campaigns. Brands and agencies publish briefs, review submissions and manage the work through the platform. You can assess the requirements and payment model before choosing a project.

Choose a brief that matches your skills and account. Check the authorized source footage, supported platform, location conditions, required message and deadline.

The current guide explains CPM, per-post and retainer models. Check minimum views, per-clip caps, budget and the earning window for CPM work. For any model, read the approval requirements, fees and settlement timing before starting.

For example, $2 CPM would calculate $40 from 20,000 eligible views before fees, provided the brief’s conditions and limits allow it. Compare that possible return with the hours required, including the chance of a lower-performing post.

Keep native and campaign eligibility separate

Keep sponsored campaign posts separate from videos intended for Creator Rewards: TikTok excludes sponsored content from its qualifying original-content definition.

Keep a simple monthly earnings record

For each video or job, record the link, hours, costs, expected payment and amount received. Add qualified views and RPM for native rewards, the review status for campaigns, or the invoice date for client work.

At the end of the month, compare what paid with the time it took. Note whether most earnings came from one exceptional video or from several repeatable kinds of work.

Choose your next step from that review. You might shorten production time, improve a tutorial’s opening, resolve an eligibility issue or find a brief that better fits your account.

Frequently asked questions

Does Creator Rewards approval monetize all my TikTok videos?

No. Each video and its views must qualify. Check the video’s reward report for its status and eligible earnings.

Does a business account qualify?

TikTok's published Creator Rewards criteria call for a personal account. Check the current program rules and your account status before making a change, because other business or commerce needs may use different account features.

Can I earn from a brand campaign before native approval?

Yes, if you meet the campaign’s requirements and TikTok’s rules. Brand-funded work has its own approval and payment terms; it does not depend on admission to Creator Rewards.

Should I use the same sponsored video for both programs?

TikTok excludes sponsored content from Creator Rewards’ qualifying original content. Make separate videos for sponsored work and native rewards.

Which route is better?

For an original series you already enjoy making, check Creator Rewards eligibility. For work from an existing brief, compare Content Rewards campaigns. For an asset you deliver to a client, quote the production and usage rights directly.
